~Rose Garden

morwell

I beg your pardon,
I never promised you a rose garden.
Along with the sunshine,
There's gotta be a little rain sometimes.
When you take, you gotta give, so live and let live,
Or let go.
I beg your pardon,
I never promised you a rose garden.

TheRoseGarden

I could promise you things like big diamond rings,
But you don't find roses growin' on stalks of clover.
So you better think it over.
Well, if sweet-talkin' you could make it come true,
I would give you the world right now on a silver platter,
But what would it matter?
So smile for a while and let's be jolly:
Love shouldn't be so melancholy.
Come along and share the good times while we can.

I could sing you a tune or promise you the moon,
But if that's what it takes to hold you,
I'd just as soon let you go,
but there's one thing I want you to know.
You better look before you leap, still waters run deep,
And there won't always be someone there to pull you out,
And you know what I'm talkin' about.
So smile for a while and let's be jolly:
Love shouldn't be so melancholy.
Come along and share the good times while we can.

There's gotta be a little rain sometimes.
To fade.

~Autumn

eekhoorn

The world puts on its robes of glory now;
The very flowers are tinged with deeper dyes;
The waves are bluer, and the angels pitch
Their shining tents along the sunset skies.

The distant hills are crowned with purple mist;
The days are mellow, and the long, calm nights,
To wondering eyees like weird magicians show
The shifting splendors of the Northern Lights.

The generous earth spreads out her fruitful stores,
And all the fields are decked with ripened sheaves;
While in the woods, at Autumn's rustling step,
The maples blush through all their trembling leaves.

~The Faerie Keeper

by Howard David Johnson
A Country Tale Dream
by The Faerie Keeper.

We have waited many season
since days of youth now gone,
grown in strength and reason
and now outrun the fawn.

In the morning your shadow cloud
rides the sunlight and the noon,
and we know you are proud
our spirits will unite soon.

Then the day you circled round
my spirit left my body hollow,
I knew from your shrieking sound
your skyward journey I would follow.

Now as we gaze wayward, weaving,
instinct to fly controls our being
our Country Tales clan is now believing
and in our soaring there is no deceiving.

My dream of youth happened on that day,
a bond with the mightiest of birds, taken,
and around camp fires we hear them say
the dream of dreamers is not forsaken.

Mont Saint-Michel is a rocky tidal island and
a commune in Normandy, France.
It is located approximately one kilometer
(just over a half-mile) off the country's north coast,
at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches.
The population of the island is 41.
The mount is best known for the medieval Benedictine
Abbey and steepled church that occupies most
of the 1km-diameter clump of rocks jutting out
of the waters of the English Channel.

Until recent times Mont Saint-Michel was connected to
the mainland via a thin natural land bridge,
which flooded rapidly with the incoming tides,
thus creating the tidal island.

In 1879, the land bridge was fortified into a causeway
and now there are plans replace it with a bridge,
while at the same time removing the silt
to once again create a tidal island.

Mont-St-Michel was used as a stronghold as far back
as the 6th century. It became a monastery in the 8th century.
Legend states that the archangel Michael
instructed Bishop St. Aubert to construct a church.
This recommendation was ignored until Michael
burned a hole in the bishop’s skull with his finger.

An Italian architect, William de Volpiano, designed
the Romanesque church of the abbey in the 11th century,
daringly placing the transept crossing at the top of
the mount. Many underground crypts and chapels
had to be built to compensate for this weight.
These formed the basis for the supportive upward
structure that can be seen today.

landinwaarts alles had vernietigd. Alleen de rotsberg
was blijven staan.

kwam bidden.

oogspringende element. Boven op de schitterende abdij,
152 meter boven de zeespiegel, staat nog steeds
aartsengel Michaël die waakt over Saint Mont Michel
.
